Critique of David’s “The Last Will and Testament of Edward P. Unum”

I nearly had an epiphany when Weldon discovered the benefactor was in fact the dead American ideal, and that all the names were pseudonyms for political leaders or fictional personas for the country.  This realization caused the will/final testament to have a greater impact on me my second time reading it.  That being said, while it is clever to withhold the true nature of the document, it may help to be a little less subtle. It would be interesting if the will was coupled with an obituary or death certificate.
